Transferring a Domain to Ardisio
Transferring your domain to Ardisio gives you a free 1-year extension added to your current expiry date. This is an ICANN requirement — not an extra charge.
Before You Begin
Complete these steps at your current registrar before initiating the transfer:
- Unlock your domain — Disable the domain lock/transfer lock in your current registrar's control panel
- Disable WHOIS privacy — Some registrars require this before a transfer can proceed
- Get your EPP/Auth code — Also called Authorization Code, Auth-Info Code, or Transfer Key. Find this in your current registrar's domain settings
- Ensure the domain is not expiring soon — Domains within 7 days of expiry cannot be transferred
Initiating the Transfer
You can transfer a domain in two ways:
Option 1: During Checkout When ordering any hosting plan or domain product, toggle "Transfer Existing" in the domain field, enter your domain and EPP code.
Option 2: From Your Dashboard Go to Dashboard → Transfer a Domain, enter your domain name and EPP code.
What Happens After Payment
- Your EPP code is encrypted and stored securely
- After payment is confirmed, we submit the transfer request to the registry
- Your current registrar sends you a confirmation email — you must approve it
- Transfer completes in 5–7 days
- Your domain stays fully live throughout the entire process
- You receive an email confirmation when the transfer is complete
Transfer Limitations
- .ng, .com.ng, and .org.ng transfers are not currently supported
- Domains registered within the last 60 days cannot be transferred (ICANN policy)
- Domains in a redemption grace period cannot be transferred
Transfer Status
Track your transfer status in Dashboard → Services → click your domain service. The transfer status card shows real-time progress.
